The Ascent™ Low Level Bridge Unit was specified as part of a refurbishment scheme that included the installation of additional rooftop plant on this existing industrial building.
The Challenge:
Preventative maintenance (PPM) was required for the facility.
To build a rooftop safe access approach, a height safety specialist contractor was appointed.
The height safety specialist identified various possible slip, trip and fall hazards as part of this strategy.
The Solution:
The Ascent™ Low Level Bridge Unit was installed to provide maintenance workers with a safe way to cross the rooftop.
The low level bridge unit spans the roof’s central valley gutter and protected the user from falling into the gutter.
Open grillage of the Ascent™ Low Level Bridge Unit created a free draining anti-slip walking surface.
The provision of a guardrail on both sides protected users from falling from the step over unit.
Adjustable support feet on the bridge unit enabled for final on-site levelling and a non-penetrative support system for the stair, ensuring the waterproof integrity of the roof surface was not affected.
The unit was delivered flat packed with comprehensive installation instructions.
Ascent™ Low Level Bridge Units are designed in line with BS EN ISO 14122-1 & 3:2016 and manufactured in our Sheffield facility in compliance with BS EN 1090 CE manufacturing standards, ensuring the product’s quality and safety.
