Safety Fabrications supplied the Ascent™ Aluminium Roof Walkway to provide safe access across the roof of the new Everton Stadium.
The Client:
Located at Bramley-Moore Dock, Liverpool, this prestigious stadium will become the home football ground for Everton ahead of the 2025-26 season.
The new stadium will serve as the centrepiece of a new mixed-use development in the community, which will include shops, houses, a gym, and other venues.
It opened as England’s eighth largest venue.
The Challenge:
The roof incorporates photovoltaic solar arrays to provide on-site energy generation for the stadium.
The ability to safely access and maintain these installations was pivotal.
The Solution:
As part of the planned maintenance strategy, the Ascent™ Aluminium Roof Walkway was specified to create a level, free-draining, anti-slip walkway surface for maintenance personnel.
The walkway was provided levelled to the falls of the roof where it traverses the roof slope.
Where the walkway Ascends / descends the roof-slope it is stepped throughout its length.
The walkway is affixed to the roof sheet using proprietary self-drill fixing screws complete with a self-sealing weather-tight washer.
The arrangement allows the walkway to be affixed to the building without the need for large-scale penetrations and subsequent weather proofing.
The Ascent™ Aluminium Roof Walkway was installed by approved installer personnel in accordance with the provided comprehensive install guidelines.
The walkway is designed and tested in accordance with EN 516;2006 and BS EN 14122- 2 &3 :2016 and manufactured at our Sheffield premises to CE / UKCA standards in accordance with BS EN 1090 manufacturing procedures.
