South Lanarkshire Council required access to the rooftop of one of their office buildings to undertake Planned Preventative maintenance (PPM) activities including the inspection / maintenance of Photovoltaic panels, air-conditioning plant, rooflight and gutter cleaning
The council approached Working at Height Safety specialist PTSG Access & Safety to design and supply a fixed ladder to provide access to the roof. PTSG specified the Ascent™ fixed ladder complete with half-hoops to protect the additional fall hazard adjacent the base of the ladder.
BS EN 14122-4:2016 Cl 5.5 details additional measures that can be taken to protect workers from fall hazard’s when using a safety cage for fall protection.
The Ascent ladder was installed by PTSG in accordance with the provided comprehensive install guidelines. The Ascent ladder is designed & tested in accordance with BS EN 14122-4:2016 and manufactured at our Sheffield premises to CE / UKCA standards in accordance with BS EN 1090 manufacturing procedures.
