Proudly Providing Fall Protection Posts at the Heart of Westminster
The team at Safety Fabrications has been involved in rather a large project lately – fabricating a whopping 300 Ascent posts for a project in Central London. These posts are manufactured in accordance with the stringent CE guidelines and to structural engineer design standards. Our Ascent structural anchor posts (or fall protection posts as they are commonly called) are designed to be used with three differing systems:
· cable based fall protection systems confirming to EN 795 Class C
· rail based fall protection systems to EN 795 Class D
· Abseil access points to BS 7985:2002.
The structural anchor posts can be manufactured in both Mild Steel and Stainless Steel, depending on their application. They are suitable for attachment to a wide variety of structural backgrounds such as structural steelwork, structural timber or reinforced concrete slabs. The anchor posts are versatile enabling them to take both fall arrest and suspension loads and the range we have on offer will cope with differing loads experienced at system ends, corners and intermediates.
We’ve recently been working in conjunction with Sheffield-based Eurosafe Solutions, Europe’s leading provider of specialised fall protection and access solutions. Eurosafe Solutions has been tasked with installing the Ascent posts as part of the fall protections system on a new development in Central London for Berkeley, one of the UK’s best known developers of new homes. The development in question is the prestigious Cleland House, a range of luxury one, two and three bedroom apartments and penthouses right at the heart of Westminster. The development boasts a gym, pool, sauna facilities and a business suite on the ground floor.
In order to keep this development well-maintained and looking at its very best, there will be a continual requirement for maintenance and cleaning tasks to be undertaken. This is where Safety Fabrications comes in. Our Ascent posts will be used for the attachment of abseil ropes so that the windows on the front of the building can be cleaned safely on a regular basis. They will also serve for the attachment of a Latchway fall protection system that will be used to keep maintenance workers safe whilst on the roof of the building.
One of the main architectural design features of Cleland House is the fact that light is allowed to come streaming in, flooding all aspects of the building. This means a lot of windows which will all need to be kept sparkling clean. Ensuring that the window cleaning teams who deal with this task are kept safe whilst undertaking their duties is a vital if the light is to come streaming in on a constant basis.
Here at Safety Fabrications, we’re all pleased as punch to be involved in such a distinguished and impressive residential project that lies right at the heart of Westminster, the governmental powerhouse of the United Kingdom. We’re proud that our products have been chosen for their robustness and efficiency, offering workers the peace of mind they need to do their jobs safely when working at height in this manner.
