Health and Safety Event 24 - 26 March 2015

05th March 2015

With February behind us and March winds whistling around us, it’s time to look at the UK’s 2015 Health and Safety Event, a major industry exhibition for anybody involved in health and safety at work.  We’ve already stressed just how important it is to attend industry events and the benefits that they can bring both businesses and individuals.  This Health and Safety show is a great place to network and an educational opportunity not to be missed for anybody responsible for running a safe and efficient workplace.

The health and Safety Event will take place at Birmingham’s NEC from 24th march to 26th March and is free to attend, just register here (and you could win a mini iPad).  It’s a great place to see all of the latest industry products and to get the highest quality advice and information.  The event is being held with educational partnerships with The British Safety Council and The International Institute for Risk and Safety Management.

This year’s event slogan is “Keeping Safety in the Heart of the UK” which is something we can all agree with.  The event is supported by 3M, Arco, DuPont, NQA and Alcumus and will benefit from a wide range of stakeholders, including the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS), Safety Groups UK, Access Industry Forum (AIF), SCOS and the Scottish Centre for Healthy Working Lives.

Events like this are a great opportunity to network, you’re likely to come across other health and safety professionals from different regions of the UK who could become a valuable resource for referrals and best practice.  When networking, collaboration is king – we can help each other discover new ideas and provide each other with inspiration and support.  Just about everybody you meet could be a useful contact, if not now, then in the future.  You will meet a wide range of people with an accumulation of valuable knowledge that you can tap into whenever you need to.  This type of industry event is very often attended by some of the brightest and best in the sector and by attending, you will be well on the way to becoming an expert in your field.

However much experience you have in the health and safety sector, there is always new stuff to learn.  The educational aspect of this type of event is an attractive option for newcomers and experience health and safety professionals alike.

There will also be suppliers in the health and safety industry showcasing their products and services and this is a great way for you to get to know about the very latest the industry has to offer.

If you’re in the market for a new job, attending an industry event of this type is a great way of making new contacts, especially with prospective employers.  Your attendance at the event demonstrates what a serious player you are and just how committed you are to your career.  It’s also a great way of learning what’s available right now and keeping your finger on the pulse of what’s going on in the world of health and safety.
