DESCRIPTION
Client: Premier Technical Services Group
Client contacts: Surveyor - Joe Darrington / Contracts Manager – Brian Whittaker
The project
An iconic – striking new railway station entrance building. Combining a curved Gold Shingle roof & an aluminium KalZip standing seam roof
Project brief
To create a safe means of access to undertake Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) works – such as gutter cleaning.
Project challenges
All access via water – all labour & materials to be transported to site via Canal barge. The roof curves in 3 directions
Project Solution
- Mild Steel Access platform constructed within existing roof void with Ascent access ladder to roof hatch
- From the roof hatch an Ascent Access walkway complete with anti-slip open grid flooring & folding handrail to both sides was installed. (folding handrail were a very specific client requirement to ensure the clean curved lines of the building were maintained.)
