DESCRIPTION
Customers brief:
To provide Stairway access for maintenance personnel.
As a major employer within the UK, Asda recognized their responsibility under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and Working at Height Regulations 2005 to provide a “Safe Means of Access, both to and from a place of work”. In this instance, for maintenance personnel, the place of work is on the roof top.
What we supplied:
We worked with the customer to design, in accordance with BS 6375 a range of standard stairs & step units that could be supplied in “Kit” form for their installation on site.
Each kit comprises a range of standard components, these components allow us to economically manufacture a complete range stair & step units, which can then be palletised and shipped to site for lifting to roof level.
The customer appreciated this standardised approach to each project as once the method of construction was learnt on the first stair, this process could be repeated on each site across the UK.
