Safety Fabrications are specialists in the design and fabrication of access ladders.
Our access safety ladders are manufactured in accordance with BS EN 4211:2005 & A1:2008 and are specifically designed to comply with Health & Safety requirements.
The ladders can be supplied in aluminium, mild steel or stainless steel, all of which can be paint powder coated to an agreed RAL colour to give an aesthetically pleasing finish.
Fixed access ladders should be used when your access requirement dictates that the angle of access ranges from 75-90° in pitch.
Companion way / Ships ladders complete with treads (rather than rungs) should be used between 65-75 degrees.

The ladders can come supplied with either safety cages fitted or suitable for the addition of an integral fall arrest system in accordance with EN 353-1.
Safety Fabrications’ range of access ladders can be a stand-alone item or integrated in to existing walkways and platforms. Fixing to cladding, masonry or steelwork is no problem as Safety Fabrications has a solution for each fixing background. We have even made freestanding ladders thus removing the need for roof penetrations.
When you have identified which ladder type you require, visit our “build your own” section of the website where with 3 basic dimensions our unique software will develop a ladder design for you, we can provide a costing and upon receipt of your order we can despatch the ladder flat packed for you to install following our easy to use installer instructions.
Our Ascent™ access ladders come complete with either an access or a step-through platform and can be supplied with self-closing gates, ensuring that access is restricted according to site regulations.
Where our clients need to restrict access at the base of the ladder, we can offer a range of anti-climb gates to prevent unauthorised access.
All handrail affixed to the platforms is designed to offer safety without restricting practical usage of the platform. The inclusion of “kick plates” around the platform stops equipment from being accidentally knocked off and therefore creating a hazard for those underneath.
In times of emergency and when a standard fire escape staircase is not an option, the in-house Safety Fabrications design team have created a bespoke fire escape ladder that glides down and back up through the touch of an individual alone.
